Aromatherapy For Cellulite or Weight Loss

Managing Cellulite
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite can be termed as the mother of obesity. Cellulite develops as a result of dense, saturated fatty body tissues becoming bound with digestive impurities (toxins) that collect beneath the skin. This makes the skin appear wrinkled, swollen & dimpled.
Today, 80% to 90% of women will probably experience cellulite on their body by natural means. The lumpy appearance of cellulite indicates that the body is suffering from an inflammatory conditions and it is in need of some cleansing and detoxification. Thus, cellulite is essentially a lymph drainage problem as toxins and fluid accumulate as fat pockets when the lymph system is not functioning properly.
What causes Cellulite?
While cellulite affects many, it is those with a more substantial body composition, often labelled as “kapha” body type in Ayurveda, which is more likely to develop cellulite. Apart from this, a variety of factors can cause cellulite.
The major causes of this disorder are bad diet, hormonal changes, sedentary lifestyle, less intake of water, excessive intake of salt, sugar or caffeine, poor posture, poor lymphatic drainage, stress & sometimes genetic. Hormones have a major impact on the fat, water retention and blood circulation of the body. During a time of rapid change in hormones such as puberty, pregnancy and menopause can lead to an increase or development of cellulite. Lifestyle and age factor worsens the existing condition of cellulite.
In most cases, women get affected than men because women tend to carry more fat naturally to support pregnancy and nursing on time arrival. However, toxins and other factors can interfere with the release of lipids and causes the cells to swell. Besides, women have comparatively less supportive connective tissue to keep all fat cells in place. This results in bulging & uneven fat accumulations in the body.
Managing Cellulite:
It is important to note that working to reduce the appearance of cellulite is necessary because if it’s left untreated, this condition may also promote other serious problems in the body like permanent fluid retention and is therefore an essential health concern to address.
The solution is to avoid things that promote these fat and lymph deposits and thereafter focusing on activating digestive and detoxifying powers to flush out the existing deposits. In addition to diet, daily massages, exercising, and following a healthy lifestyle can support the body to dislodge toxic fatty tissues & clear out the cellulite.
Aromatherapy is an alternative treatment proved effective in many case studies. Essential oils are highly efficient in boosting body’s metabolism and stimulate the body cells. Essential oils of fennel, geranium, pepper, juniper possess detoxifying and cleansing properties that combats fluid retention and toxic build-up in the tissues. Essential oils are very well absorbed through the skin in a very brief amount of time. They have no side effects like other methods and procedures carry. However, each person’s body is unique and it requires different medium for the essential oils to show results.
Ecoplanet, a leading aromatherapy cosmetic manufacturing company, has a well-researched proprietary formula for managing cellulite by using essential oils in multiple carriers such as massage oil, body cream, body balm, body wrap and in gel base.
